JOB TITLE: Radiology Assistant

STATUS: Per Diem

LOCATION: Imaging Center- Northern Heights - 1255 Portland AvenueRochester, NY 14621

DEPARTMENT: Imaging

SCHEDULE: Days, M-F 4hr shift, 8am-12pm

SUMMARY

Provides assistance to technologists with tasks necessary for the general management and organization of the department, being flexible meeting patient and/or department needs while ensuring all Radiology safety protocols are followed. Performs direct and indirect patient care as determined/delegated by a licensed technologist or nurse and facilitates the safe transport of patients to and from their respective units.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stocks room appropriately while rotating supplies based on expiration dates, including Emergency response equipment

  • Ensures that all regulatory logs are completed daily

  • Uses team effort to accomplish room turnover within acceptable timeframes.  Primarily responsible for cleanliness and safety of environment for staff and patients.  

  • Safely and efficiently transports patients to and from the department in a safe manner, according to hospital  standards. 

  • Assists with ambulation, transferring or lifting of patients 

  • Performs clerical duties to include filing, faxing, and scanning documents.  

  • Answers and returns phone calls, completes safety screening forms/history forms, and communicates with Care team as needed.  

  • Provides safe and competent care for patients with relationship to elimination & hygiene needs including bathing and changing bed linens as needed while patient is in the Radiology department..  

  • Demonstrates compassion and any other kind of support needed for the patient and patient family members 

  • Demonstrates mission and values of the organization

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic Computer skills

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skill

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year patient care experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy- Clinical- Heavy clinical roles require continual lifting of more than 50 lbs., pushing and pulling patients or equipment, and working in physically awkward or restrictive positions. Staff must maintain balance and coordination in confined, uneven, or emergent care settings while performing both fine and gross motor tasks. High sensory acuity is needed to recognize patient cues and environmental alerts. Emotional and cognitive demands are significant due to urgent decision-making, managing distressed patients, and functioning effectively in high-pressure clinical situations. Environmental exposures commonly include infectious agents, biohazards, noise, and chemicals. Employees may be required to complete mask-fit testing, TB screening, and participate in extended or on-call shifts.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
