    Description

    Title: Radiological Engineer
    Location: Remote

    Overview:
    Reporting to the Manager, Radiological Engineering, this position will

    specialize in the areas of radiological and nuclear analyses with a focus on pressurized light-water

    reactors licensing writing and defense. This position requires a self-motivated professional with

    experience working in a remote platform (web-based video, phone, email, etc), with the necessary

    qualification to obtain US export controlled software through RSIC.

    Job Duties: 

     Perform engineering calculations and analysis using industry-standard methods and

    simulation tools (e.g., NRCDose, SCALE 6, , RADTRAD, , MCNP, ADVANTG) with little to no

    supervision.

    · Develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and

    innovation.

    · Plan, organize, and perform innovative and complex engineering assignments on a team

    dedicated to the development of an engineering project; interprets scope and

    requirements of projects; develops alternatives.

    · Exercise judgment within broadly defined policies and practices using professional

    principles and company objectives to resolve complex issues.

    · Interact with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring

    coordination across organizational lines.

    · Represent the organization as the principal customer contact

    · Present technical information concerning projects or schedule on behalf of NuScale.

    Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others

    · Mentor and train junior engineers.

    · Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications: 

     Education/Certification: A minimum of a B.S. degree in nuclear engineering or radiological health physics from a four year ABET accredited college of university is required. An advanced degree is preferred. · 

    Experience: A minimum 8 years of full-time directly applicable experience in nuclear/radiological engineering or health physics is required. 2-3 years’ of additional or concurrent experience in PWR or BWR license development and defense. · Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
