    Job Summary

    The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to support accurate and timely patient diagnosis and treatment. This role is responsible for safely positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical factors, and producing high-quality images in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and regulatory standards. The Radiologic Technologist applies professional judgment to ensure image quality, patient safety, and comfort, while adhering to radiation safety principles and quality control requirements. The position works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Essential Functions

    • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
    • Verify patient identification and clinical history prior to imaging procedures.
    • Operate radiographic equipment to capture diagnostic images as per established protocols.
    • Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging procedures, patient history, and diagnostic outcomes.
    • Implement radiation safety measures to minimize patient and staff exposure.
    • Assist in the administration of contrast media as directed by a radiologist.
    • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues to appropriate personnel.
    • Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Collaborate with radiologists to assess imaging quality and adjust techniques as needed.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control guidelines.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

    • Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety protocols.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in high-stress, emergency situations.
    • Proficiency in using radiographic imaging equipment and electronic medical record systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in imaging and documentation.
    • Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning and maintaining ARRT certification.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) or Associate's Degree from an accredited program in radiologic technology (Required) And
    • Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology or related field (Preferred)

    Licenses/Certifications

    • Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice Upon Hire (Required) And
    • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire (Required)

    Experience

    • 1+ years radiologic tech experience (Preferred)
