Department Overview
The function of the Radiologic Technologist position within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to perform all phases of technical diagnostic imaging. Radiologic Technologists operate X-Ray equipment used to capture and develop images for the purpose of medical diagnosis. The Radiologic technologist promotes OHSU's mission statement by delivering high quality, cost effective, family-oriented service. This position helps to create a collaborative environment by integrating education, research and clinical leadership. Radiologic Technologists work with infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.

Required Qualifications
Must be a graduate of an accredited diagnostic radiography program that meets current qualifications to take and pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) board examinations in Radiography upon hire.
Student candidates must obtain the RT (R) (ARRT) certification within 6 months of their hire date.
Candidates must have a current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) temporary license for student hires and permanent license for registered hires.
Positions within person patient care: BLS certificate within 30 days of hire or prior to independent practice, whichever comes first

This position works in a busy environment with frequent interruptions, multiple demands and continuous
interaction with patients and other medical professionals. It requires being exposed to radiation, chemical
solutions, and human tissue/fluids.
