Job Summary

The candidate should demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all aspects of General Diagnostic Radiology and adhere to departmental protocols and policies. The individual must obtain RT(R) credentials and maintain active status. The role involves using technical knowledge to assist in troubleshooting equipment and protocol issues and sharing knowledge with colleagues and students.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient demographic, emulsion markers, and examination requests are correct.
  • Critique, orient, and save all pertinent images, transmitting QA-ed images to PACS.
  • Document completion and/or cancellation of all procedures in RIS, maintaining image management equipment.
  • Report any equipment problems to appropriate resources.
  • Utilize PACS and HIS systems for obtaining additional study data.
  • Perform work in a timely manner and produce quality radiographic images consistently.
  • Analyze requests and develop appropriate examination and action plans.
  • Review radiographic orders and images, correlating patient demographic information to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, document incidents, and advise supervisors of improvement opportunities.
  • Use RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS systems effectively to access information and document procedure status.
  • Modify orders as necessary and complete exams in the RIS System, ensuring all information is properly transmitted to PACS.
  • Verify patient identity and obtain relevant patient history for examination orders.
  • Verify pregnancy status before administering ionizing radiation.
  • Assess patients' physical conditions and develop action plans for examinations.
  • Assist patients requiring extra attention and react to emergency situations to ensure patient safety.

Skills

Required Skills & Experience: No prior experience required.

Preferred Skills & Experience: Siemens experience preferred.
