    Description

    The Radiologic Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures and diagnostic imaging examinations using approved workflows and procedural protocols. Working under direct supervision, this position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.

    Essential Job Function:

    • Performs routine and special CT and diagnostic exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks.
    • Follows instructions from physicians regarding which area of the patients body needs imaging.
    • Talks the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety and increase their understanding of the procedure.
    • Positions the patient correctly and adjusts the imaging equipment to the specified position to create quality images of specific parts of the body.
    • Reviews and assesses patient medical histories to determine appropriate imaging parameters for accurate results.
    • Operates and maintains advanced CT equipment, adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure precise and reliable imaging results.
    • Records and documents all CT scans and associated information in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), verifying charges and addressing discrepancies for smooth workflow.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.
