Reporting to the Program Head, Radiography, the Clinical Coordinator instructs, directs, and supervises students in clinical sites, assists in curriculum development, and provides formal lectures and lab instruction, as assigned. The Coordinator ensures clinical sites meet standards outlined by the institution and accrediting agencies, maintains positive relationships with clinical sites, and coordinates student clinical and didactic learning.

Teleworking:

This position is eligible for up to two days of teleworking per week after 9 months of employment, consistent with the College's Teleworking Policy

Essential Duties

  • Fulfills duties of the clinical, lab, and/or classroom instructor.
  • Coordinates and plans clinical site instruction for students.
  • Instructs and evaluates students and reports progress of the student's academic development in a timely manner.
  • Ensures proper procedures are followed and practiced by students when dealing with patients at clinical sites.
  • Correlates clinical education with didactic education.
  • Continually monitors students radiation safety behaviors in the laboratory and clinical settings.
  • Utilizes cloud-based tracking system to monitor student progress.
  • Oversees the collection, maintenance, and reporting of all documentation required by the clinical sites.
  • Conduct regular meetings and/or workshops with clinical site preceptors to ensure they are knowledgeable of program policies and procedures to ensure student success in the clinical setting.
  • Maintains appropriate expertise and competencies in reference to the Radiography Program through continued participation in professional development.
  • Prepares and maintains course outlines, descriptions and objectives in current LMS.
  • Assists the Radiography Program Head in the periodic review and revision of course materials.
  • Assists with program accreditation processes.
  • Follows all institutional policies and procedures.
  • Assists in planning and conducting orientations, advisory board, and programmatic meetings.
  • Supports planning and conducting pinning ceremonies.
  • Participates in graduation exercises.
  • Performs duties incidental to institutional public relations, student registration, recruiting, advising prospective students, and other functions of the College.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Must be credentialed in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Two years of documented clinical experience in the professional discipline.
  • Two years of documented experience providing didactic and clinical supervision.
  • Proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and/or academic advising.
  • Reliable transportation to clinical facilities

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Master degree seeking (expected completion within 3 years of hire date)
  • Document a minimum of three years of experience as an instructor in an accredited program
  • LMS experience

Physical Demands

  • Able to perform all duties in class, lab, and clinic
  • Standing for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours)
  • Lift and carry at least 50 pounds to safely transport and use ancillary aids (image receptors, sandbags, portable equipment, etc.) when performing radiologic procedures
  • Reach, manipulate, and operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment, which is above shoulder level (about 6 feet above the floor)
  • Safely move standard wheelchairs without assistance
  • Essential skills include the ability to use auditory and visual senses
