Description: Our client is currently seeking a Radiation Therapist!

    Radiation Therapist – Direct Hire (Full-Time)
    Location: Shenandoah, IA
    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 36 hours/week

    Overview: The Judge Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist for a full-time, direct hire position. In this role, you will deliver precise radiation therapy treatments, ensure patient safety, and contribute to high‑quality oncology care as part of a collaborative clinical team.

    Key Responsibilities
    Radiation Treatment Delivery

    • Administer accurate radiation therapy treatments and simulations according to physician prescriptions.
    • Interpret and implement treatment plans under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist.
    • Perform basic dose calculations and verify treatment accuracy.
    • Maintain complete, timely, and accurate patient treatment records.
    • Assist with brachytherapy procedures as needed.
    • Monitor patient progress and communicate concerns to the clinical team.

    Equipment & Treatment Room Operations

    • Perform daily equipment warm‑ups, dose checks, and safety verifications.
    • Operate linear accelerators, simulators, and CT scanners.
    • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or variances promptly.
    • Ensure proper machine settings prior to treatment delivery.
    • Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards.
    • Restock supplies and ensure equipment remains in optimal working condition.

    Patient Care

    • Verify patient identity and confirm treatment plans before each session.
    • Educate patients on procedures, side effects, and expectations.
    • Observe and report physical or emotional changes in patients.
    • Provide compassionate assistance throughout the treatment process.
    • Support efficient scheduling and patient flow.
    • Address patient and family needs with professionalism and empathy.

    Quality Assurance & Safety

    • Participate in QA/QI programs to ensure treatment accuracy and safety.
    • Perform chart checks and treatment verification processes.
    • Assist with treatment field localization and imaging review.
    • Adhere to all radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Wear radiation monitoring devices at all times.
    • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of radiation physics and safety protocols.

    Documentation & Compliance

    • Document treatment setup, dosage, and patient progress accurately.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in EHR systems.
    • Support billing and coding accuracy.
    • Maintain compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

    Communication & Collaboration

    • Collaborate with physicians, physicists, nurses, and the broader care team.
    • Participate in patient care conferences and treatment planning discussions.
    • Communicate changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.


    Qualifications

    • Licensure: ARRT Registered in Radiation Therapy (Required)
    • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
    • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy principles, equipment, and safety protocols
    • Excellent communication, patient‑care, and teamwork skills
