Overview:
St. Mary’s Healthcare is actively seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Radiation Oncologist to serve as the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology and lead the continued growth and development of our cancer program in Amsterdam, NY. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical excellence with strategic leadership, shaping the future of radiation oncology while delivering exceptional, patient-centered cancer care. As Medical Director, you’ll provide comprehensive radiation oncology services while collaborating closely with Medical Oncology, Breast Surgery, General Surgery, Radiology, Primary Care, and hospital leadership to expand oncology services, enhance clinical quality, and strengthen multidisciplinary cancer care throughout the region.

Qualifications:
Required Credentials - Board Certified / Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology. Must obtain New York State medical license prior to start date.
Preferred Experience - Experience in community-based radiation oncology practice is preferred. Previous leadership experience as a Medical Director, Department Chair, or other physician leadership role is preferred but not required. Candidates with a demonstrated interest in program development and clinical leadership are encouraged to apply.
Education - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology residency.
Skills - Strong clinical expertise, physician leadership, strategic thinking, multidisciplinary collaboration, and exceptional patient-centered communication skills.

The Medical Director is responsible for delivering outstanding patient care while guiding program development, promoting multidisciplinary collaboration, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing quality initiatives that strengthen cancer care across the region.

Adherence to Standard Precautions and utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
