Rack Assembly Technician (Union Shop)

Our client in Willoughby is seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join their manufacturing team. This is a hands-on production role focused on assembling large racks, cabinets, and related products. This is not a warehouse or shipping position.

Important: Candidates must successfully pass a Blueprint Reading & Scale Measurement Test to be considered for employment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large racks, cabinets, and components according to blueprints, work orders, and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and scale measurements accurately
• Perform quality inspections on components and finished products
• Operate drill presses, countersink machines, and other production equipment
• Saw, rivet, and assemble sheet metal components as required
• Repair damaged or non-conforming products when necessary
• Complete final inspections, labeling, cleaning, and packaging of finished products
• Verify part counts and report material shortages or discrepancies
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all quality and safety procedures

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience using hand tools and power tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and production processes
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Must pass a Blueprint Reading & Scale Measurement Test

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks throughout the shift
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
