Job Title: R&D Technician
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract
R&D Technician with our client located in Pleasanton, CA.
Key Responsibilities- Perform temperature measurements using a variety of tools, including IR cameras and thermocouples
- Conduct instrument testing for multiple purposes, including design verification
- Measure digital, analog, and power signals (up to 250VDC)
- Design, build, and configure test setups to support R&D objectives
- Record, organize, and analyze test data to support engineering decisions
- Operate confidently in both Windows and Linux computing environments
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, working independently with minimal oversight
- Engage in root cause analysis
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional travel to contract manufacturer sites and other locations (<10%)
Required Qualifications- Associate degree in Electronics or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience in an R&D environment
- Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and related equipment
- Experience with thermal management of electronic components
- Experience with bonding processes using various adhesives and epoxies
- Knowledge of optics and opto-mechanical systems (lenses, lasers, fibers)
- Capable of using Google Docs/Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work well in a team
- Experience from Automotive or Aerospace industry
Preferred Qualifications- Working knowledge of lasers and laser safety/operating environments
- Experience with industrial design and automotive requirements
Job Details:- Contract: 6-9 months
- Pay Range: $35-45/hr
- Location: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite)
