Description:
Senior R&D Technician
Support the research, development, prototyping, testing, and validation of medical devices, with emphasis on catheter-based technologies. Work closely with R&D engineers and cross-functional teams to translate product concepts into functional prototypes, develop and execute test methods, troubleshoot product and process issues, and support design verification and process validation activities.
Key Responsibilities
"Build, modify, and troubleshoot prototypes for catheter and delivery-system development.
"Perform dimensional, mechanical, functional, and performance testing using specialized inspection and laboratory equipment.
"Execute validation protocols and support development of test-method validation documentation.
"Provide technical input to engineers on product design, manufacturability, process optimization, and test results.
"Develop and improve prototype assembly processes using bonding, welding, coating, crimping, balloon processing, and other catheter-manufacturing techniques.
"Support equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, validation, troubleshooting, and general R&D lab operations.
"Support engineering changes, prototype tooling/fixtures, competitive product evaluations, and early manufacturing/process-development activities.
Ideal Background: Extensive hands-on experience in medical-device R&D, particularly cardiovascular catheter development, prototype fabrication, mechanical/functional testing, and working within a regulated product-development environment. Strong technical leadership and the ability to independently support engineers from early proof-of-concept builds through testing, validation, and transfer-related activities.
