Description

Job Title: R&D Technical Writing Analyst
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Type: Contract
Compensation: $40 - $44.97/hr
Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and review of labeling documentation, including drawings, change orders, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GMP and QSR standards.
  • Develop labeling designs using standard templates and style guides.
  • Manage digital and hardcopy records in document control systems, resolve discrepancies, and verify labeling changes for data support and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, R&D Packaging Engineers, Legal, Product Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Design Assurance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to support customer satisfaction and patient safety.
  • Support setup of labeling design and changes using the Stryker Neurovascular labeling system and software tools (GLS/Prisym, Adobe Products, Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Use onsite label printers (e.g., Zebra) and troubleshoot printer issues as needed.
  • Support labeling verification procedures and collaborate with Operations to implement labeling in production.
  • Participate in project team meetings, coordinate, and monitor project tasks and progress.
  • Maintain compliance with quality requirements and support process improvements.
  • Update technical documentation such as SOPs, Work Instructions, and technical literature, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and appropriate style.
  • Review and verify accuracy of technical publications and labeling, maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ensure documentation compliance using site-specific data management systems (e.g., PLM).
  • Participate in problem-solving initiatives and document resolutions within the quality system.
  • Support updates to departmental and quality system SOPs, Work Instructions, forms, and templates, including graphical content.
  • Coordinate with functional groups and project managers for labeling reviews and approvals.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Experience with change control processes
  • Experience with label creation software (e.g., Prism, Label Creator, Bartender, Nice Label, Easy Label, etc.), preferably in a medical device industry
  • Medical device industry experience (nice to have)
  • Experience working with label printers (Zebra) (nice to have)
  • Adobe Suite experience (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) (nice to have)
  • Experience with CAD, SolidWorks (nice to have)
