Part-time: 20 hours/week
The Trade Compliance Classification Specialist will support the Airgas organization with overall compliance with U.S. laws and regulations governing both export and import classifications; and related company policies and procedures. This position requires 3-5%2B years of trade compliance Classification experience, and will support the Trade Compliance department in other Trade related duties as required.
The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic and proactive in email and verbal communications with Internal Airgas associates.
The candidate should be able to meet/exceed internal customer expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Support Regional/BU International Trade Compliance Representatives (ITCRs) by providing remote guidance and compliance support regarding HTS, Schedule B and ECCN Classifications.
Review product descriptions, technical drawings, and material specifications to assign accurate HTS/HTSUS and Schedule B codes
Prioritize Urgent incoming Classification requests from ITCRs, requesting additional information or supporting documentation as needed
Interpret Customs rulings, explanatory notes, and legal regulations to ensure full adherence to import and export control laws
Update Product Database Spreadsheet with new/updated Classifications
Work with ERP team to update product master database
Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the Airgas Trade Compliance classification program.

Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics or Transportation, International Trade or related field preferred.
Applicable job experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Licensed Customs Broker, preferred but not a must

Required Length & Type of Experience:
Job Description

A minimum of 3-5%2B years of international trade compliance experience in classification
First-hand experience completing US HTS/schedule B/ECCN classification
Comprehensive working knowledge of Gov. agencies; BIS, CBP and OFAC

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and use of the GRIs
Extensive knowledge of the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule
Use of section and chapter notes
Ability to write a defendable classification rationale
Extensive knowledge of the BIS Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
Comfortable reviewing, manipulating, and auditing data in Google Sheets/Excel
Experience working with Global Trade Management tool
Knowledge of PowerBI and reporting
