Description

The R&D Laboratory Analyst will support laboratory operations, ensuring high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment. You will be focused on processing the decontamination of biohazardous waste, media production, sample reception and sample preparation.

Description

  • Focusing on pet care kibbles and treats.
  • Perform laboratory testing and analysis to support research and development projects.
  • Ensure compliance with established protocols and quality standards during testing procedures.
  • Document and report test results accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of samples and reagents for analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  • Support additional tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory.

Profile

A successful R&D Laboratory Analyst should have:

  • A strong background in laboratory analysis and a passion for the food and beverage or pet care industries.
  • BS in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or relative fields.
  • Data entry and reporting.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and the ability to follow detailed protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and document results clearly.
  • A commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring safety in the workplace.
  • Adaptability and a proactive attitude to handle a dynamic work environment.

Desirable:

  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of ISO 17025.
  • Knowledge of cross-contamination management/mitigation in laboratories.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique.
  • Experience completing spreadsheets (Excel), Word, ELN, and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Practical laboratory skills and ability to troubleshoot/maintain complex laboratory instrumentation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of biological risk control plans, laboratory safety, chemical management.

Job Offer

  • $20 per hour.
  • 3 month contract with possibility of extension or converting full time.
  • Role based in Thompson's Station, Tennessee.
  • 40 hour week, working Tuesday -Saturday 8AM-5:00 PM.
