Description

Talent Space, Inc. is seeking a R&D Hardware Design Engineer for a contract opportunity in Calabasas, CA!
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, precision machined components, sheet metal parts, and corrugated/foam packaging solutions.
  • Defined mechanical interfaces, constraints, and requirements for printed circuit boards assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure product fit, function, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Create detailed fabrication drawings, parts lists, and assembly drawings.
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis to evaluate and validate mechanical designs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and source commercially available off-the-shelf components to meet product requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and Operations to identify and resolve design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) issues.
  • Build, assemble, test, and validate mechanical and electro-mechanical prototype assemblies.
  • Create and manage engineering change orders (ECOs) using the Agile MRP system.
  • Participate in cross-functional project team meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions to support successful project execution.
Skills
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD and simulation tools.
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams
  • Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawing standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Basic understanding of PCB fabrication, layout, and mechanical design guidelines.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, a plus
  • Experience with Agile, a plus
