Description
This R&D Engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing cable and cable assembly designs and manufacturing processes.
- Supporting product qualification and transferring products into production.
- Identifying and resolving technical risks within cable assembly projects.
- Collaborating with customers, suppliers, and global manufacturing teams.
- Managing cross-functional development projects to meet timelines and profitability goals.
- Supporting CAPEX initiatives, equipment selection, tooling, and process improvements.
Profile
A Successful R&D Engineer will have:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in wire & cable, cable assembly, catheter assembly, or medical device manufacturing.
- Understanding of cable manufacturing materials, connectors, tooling, and fixturing.
- Experience with extrusion, molding, and cable production environments.
- Experience automating manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of QMS requirements, BOMs, routers, work instructions, and PFMEAs.
- Functional CAD software experience.
- Project management experience using tools such as Gantt charts and MS Project.
