About the Role

Join a high-impact cybersecurity engineering team as the Qualys Senior Engineer, serving as the primary SME and technical lead for all things Qualys. You'll drive the design, configuration, optimization, and evolution of our vulnerability management program, leveraging your deep knowledge of Qualys VMDR, PCA, and emerging Asset modules. Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Qualys platform engineering, including initial design, configuration, ongoing optimization, and automation of vulnerability scanning capabilities
• Establish and champion engineering standards and best practices for scanning, integrations, reporting, and platform operations
• Develop and refine scanning strategies tailored to enterprise needs and platform limitations
• Lead and resolve complex technical challenges, collaborating with security, infrastructure, application, and vendor teams
• Mentor and coach engineers to build deeper expertise in Qualys and vulnerability management
• Drive scripting and automation initiatives (preferably with Python and AI) for enhanced efficiency in scanning and reporting
• Grow our use of Qualys modules, focusing on VMDR, PCA, and future Asset module adoption

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven hands-on SME-level expertise in Qualys platform with in-depth knowledge of VMDR and PCA modules
• Strong capability in designing, configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting Qualys scanning in enterprise settings
• Advanced scripting and automation skills, with a preference for Python and AI-driven solutions
• Fluent in vulnerability scanning, authentication concepts, scan failures, and operational optimization within Qualys
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls, routing, segmentation, and enterprise infrastructure
• Exceptional communication skills-must clearly articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively across teams
• Experience in both Windows and Linux/Unix environments

Preferred Skills

• Experience maturing the Qualys Asset module in enterprise environments
• Track record of establishing engineering standards and best practices for vulnerability management platforms
• Exposure to large-scale integrations and automation projects within security operations
