Advanced Personnel Resources is currently seeking an experienced Quality Technician for a third-shift, temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established manufacturing company in the Triad.
The Quality Technician will perform floor inspections, physical-property testing, sample preparation, and data analysis to ensure products meet established quality and customer specifications. This role works closely with Quality, Production, and other plant departments to identify concerns, communicate results, and support timely product release.
Position Details
Pay: $21.00–$22.00 per hour
Schedule: Third shift
Training: Initial training may take place on first shift
Required Footwear: Steel-toe shoes
Key Responsibilities
- Complete quality inspections in support of daily production schedules
- Perform required laboratory and physical-property testing
- Collect and prepare production samples for testing and audits
- Verify testing is completed according to established standards, procedures, and specifications
- Review and analyze test results to support product approval and release
- Communicate quality concerns and findings to Production and Quality team members
- Provide data to support problem-solving and corrective-action efforts
- Assist with the investigation of customer concerns and product-quality issues
- Maintain accurate testing records and documentation
- Generate, review, and approve Certificates of Analysis
- Operate and understand quality-testing and measurement equipment
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards
- Work collaboratively with team members across all shifts and plant departments
- Assist with additional quality-related duties as assigned
Testing and Measurement Equipment
The position may use equipment such as:
- Micrometers and thickness-verification equipment
- Tensile, elongation, tear, haze, and coefficient-of-friction testing equipment
- Spectrophotometers and microscopes
- Resistivity and shrink-testing equipment
- Scan guns, sample presses, cutting dies, and calibration tools
- Tape measures, rulers, cameras, and other inspection tools
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of quality methods, inspections, and testing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read measurement equipment, specifications, and rulers accurately
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
Preferred Qualifications
- Two-year technical degree
- Previous experience as a Quality Technician, Floor Inspector, or Quality Inspector
- Quality Technician certification
- Experience with problem solving, data analysis, and manufacturing test methods
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong hand-eye coordination
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
