Description
Quality CMM Operator operates Coordinate Measuring Machines to perform in-process or final inspections of machined components. They ensure that parts conform to blueprints, process specifications, and quality control requirements, and report any non-conformances to the relevant teams .
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and Program CMMs: Run CMMs according to established inspection programs, using software such as PC-DMIS or Zeiss Calypso
- Inspect and Verify: Measure and inspect precision machined parts, including reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and material specifications
- Data Analysis: Analyze measurement data to identify deviations and ensure compliance with engineering standards
- Quality Assurance: Document inspection results, maintain inspection records, and support ISO or AS9100 quality management systems
- Troubleshooting: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve processes
- Training: Train junior operators on CMM operation, programming, and quality best practices
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and maintenance of CMMs to ensure accuracy
