Job Title: Quality Technician - 26-00266
The Professional Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is partnering with an established Richland County manufacturer to find a Quality Technician for 2nd shift. This is a direct hire opportunity paying up to $21/hour, working 8PM-6:30AM, five 10-hour shifts per week.
If you're already working in manufacturing quality and know how to use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools, this is worth a look. This team needs someone who can do more than just inspect a finished part. You'll be involved throughout the process, working with production, catching problems early, and helping determine what needs to happen when something is out of spec.
What You'll Be Doing
" Inspect incoming material, work in process, and finished product
" Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
" Work with eddy current and ultrasonic testing equipment
" Read specifications and determine whether product is within tolerance
" Identify defects and quality concerns before they move further through production
" Work with production when something does not look right and help figure out the cause
" Support corrective actions and quality improvement efforts
" Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation
" Enter and review information in PLEX
" Help make sure finished product meets both company and customer requirements
What They're Looking For
" Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment
" Ideally 3 to 5 years of hands-on quality experience
" Experience with micrometers, calipers, gauges, or similar precision tools
" Ability to read specifications and understand tolerances
" Someone who is comfortable speaking up when there is a quality concern
" Strong attention to detail and good problem solving skills
" Steel, tubing, metals, machining, or fabrication experience is a big plus
" Eddy current or ultrasonic testing experience is a plus
" PLEX experience is helpful
" High school diploma or GED
" Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. as needed
