The Quality Technician plays a crucial role in supporting production by ensuring adherence to specifications, conducting component and assembly inspections, and communicating necessary adjustments to the operations team. This role requires meticulous documentation of inspection results in compliance with the Quality Management System, including reports, logs, and summaries of rework activities.
Description:
Directly report to the QHSE Manager to inspect incoming components and generator set assemblies, while adhering to strict documentation requirements within the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure incoming components are inspected thoroughly, and supplier or transportation nonconformances are properly documented and reported.
• Review and inspect completed product and production records to ensure product standards are met and enforce quality-control programs. This includes newly manufactured and repaired components.
• Maintain visual awareness of the production area to ensure effective execution of all tasks within the QMS and safety goals.
• Ensure that the document control procedure is properly utilized to approve, review, and revise inspection documents.
• Assist in continual improvements of the Quality and HSE Management System to ensure supplier NCRs are documented properly.
• Monitor adherence to ISO Standards and Assembly Work Instructions established for assembly production and inspection.
• Ensure good quality production of products is on time while monitoring production practices and working with the QHSE Manager when issues arise.
• Ensure all tools used within production and throughout the facility are calibrated properly and timely; lift fixtures are inspected, product standards are upheld, and quality-control programs are enforced.
• Remove nonworking tools and meters from service and send them to be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
• In conjunction with the QHSE Manager, ensure all work areas are safe while practicing safe working practices.
• Report and work with the QHSE Manager on the performance of the Quality and HSE Management System and support improvements.
• Assist the QHSE Manager, as required, with environmental regulatory compliance tasks and reporting to ensure inspections and reports are submitted as required.
• Provide and participate in training, as needed, to properly perform the quality inspection tasks required to ensure products are delivered to customers without issue.
Experience:
• 1–3 years of quality experience in gas turbine and/or electronics manufacturing quality inspection
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent
