This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical quality systems, work directly with manufacturing and process teams, and influence everything from customer satisfaction and product performance to process capability and operational efficiency.
You''ll investigate complex quality issues, lead root cause analysis efforts, support advanced metallurgical evaluations, optimize process controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Your work will have a direct impact on product quality, manufacturing performance, customer confidence, and business results.

What You''ll Own
Drive Product and Process Quality
- Lead efforts to improve product quality, process capability, and manufacturing consistency across the operation.
- Identify, investigate, and eliminate sources of variation, defects, and process instability.
- Develop and implement sustainable quality improvements that improve customer satisfaction and operational performance.
- Assess process deviations and implement corrective actions to minimize quality, utilization, and efficiency losses.
Lead Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis
- Serve as a technical leader for customer complaints, internal quality concerns, and manufacturing investigations.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles to resolve complex issues.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions that deliver long-term improvements rather than temporary fixes.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, process engineering, and metallurgical teams to identify and eliminate recurring quality issues.
Own the Quality Management System
- Manage and continuously improve the site''s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Lead internal audit programs and maintain readiness for registrar, customer, and corporate audits.
- Manage document control processes and serve as the site''s ETQ system expert.
- Support management reviews and strategic quality initiatives that align with business objectives.
Leverage Data to Improve Manufacturing Performance
- Analyze production, process, lubrication, and quality performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Develop process control strategies that improve long-term process capability and product consistency.
- Monitor key quality indicators and translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Use statistical and analytical tools to support process optimization and performance improvement initiatives.
Advance Technical Quality and Metallurgical Excellence
- Support metallurgical investigations and defect characterization activities.
- Perform microscopic metallography and maintain the site''s defect library.
- Collaborate with process teams during new product development, qualification, and manufacturing process refinement.
- Support continuous improvement of process standards, specifications, and quality documentation.
Partner with Customers, Suppliers, and Operations
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality standards and performance expectations are met.
- Support customer-facing quality discussions and resolve technical issues that impact product performance.
- Build strong working relationships across manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and commercial functions.
What We''re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree in Engineering required (Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline preferred).
- Minimum three years of experience within quality engineering, quality systems, or manufacturing process improvement.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 or other structured quality management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Experience leading root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- High level of initiative, ownership, and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aluminum, metals, rolling, casting, automotive, aerospace, or other advanced manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of aluminum continuous casting, hot rolling, and cold rolling processes.
- Understanding of coolant, lubrication, water treatment, and process chemistry systems.
- Experience analyzing lubricant performance, viscosity, additive balance, and process fluid performance.
- Knowledge of metallurgical analysis, microscopy, and defect characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with statistical process control, process capability analysis, and advanced quality methodologies.
- Experience supporting customer-facing quality initiatives and audit activities.

Location Profile
Opened in 1985 the Uhrichsville facility produces flat rolled aluminum sheet. The rolling mill cold rolls aluminum sheet to a desired gauge anneals to temper levels and slits the rolled sheet to size. Employing more than 350 people the facility produces aluminum sheet for building and construction automotive distribution transportation and consumer durable applications.
