Description

Nesco Resource is in search of a Quality Technician/DQR (Designated Quality Representative) to join our client’s team at their Milford, CT location.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Technician/DQR serves as a primary quality liaison between the company and assigned aerospace customers. This position ensures products, inspection activities, documentation, and manufacturing processes comply with customer requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and applicable aerospace quality standards. The DQR performs and supports first-piece, in-process, final, receiving, source, and First Article inspections and works closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and customer representatives to resolve quality and documentation issues.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the Quality point of contact for assigned aerospace customers and communicate directly with customer quality representatives.
  • Review customer purchase orders, drawings, specifications, quality clauses, and other requirements to ensure proper implementation.
  • Perform and/or support first-piece, in-process, final, receiving, and source inspections.
  • Verify product conformity using CMMs, vision systems, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate First Article Inspection Reports (FAI/FAIR) in accordance with AS9102 and customer requirements.
  • Review material certifications, special-process certifications, test reports, inspection records, and Certificates of Conformance for accuracy and traceability.
  • Ensure required inspection and quality documentation is complete and accurate prior to shipment.
  • Identify and document nonconforming product and support MRB, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and customer responses.
  • Coordinate customer source inspections, audits, quality visits, and FAIR submissions.
  • Ensure applicable special processes are performed by approved sources and support compliance with customer and NADCAP requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of customer-specific requirements and changes to drawings, specifications, and quality clauses.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce scrap, rework, customer complaints, and inspection-related shipment delays.
  • Provide quality and inspection guidance or training to inspectors and production personnel as needed.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or relevant aerospace/manufacturing education preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, quality, inspection, or a related field.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Experience with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Experience with FAI/FAIR and AS9102 requirements.
  • Experience reviewing material and special-process certifications.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, Engineering, Production, Quality, and management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience as a DQR, Source Inspector, Customer Quality Representative, or Aerospace Quality Inspector.
  • Experience supporting Pratt & Whitney, GE Aerospace, Collins Aerospace, Boeing, or similar aerospace customers.
  • Experience with CMM and/or vision inspection systems.
  • Knowledge of NADCAP special-process requirements.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or similar certification.
  • Experience with customer portals, electronic FAIR systems, and ERP/MRP or quality-management systems.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Direct hire with full benefits
  • 1st shift, Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm
  • Salary range: $70 – 90K
