Quality Specialist 2 - QC Engineering

Location: Houston, TX (100% Onsite)

Pay Rate: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Onsite (5 Days per Week)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Quality Specialist 2 to support Quality Control and QC Engineering activities within manufacturing and project execution environments. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements while supporting quality initiatives throughout project lifecycles.

The ideal candidate will have a strong quality background with exposure to welded products, fabrication environments, and non-destructive testing (NDT) processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Control activities during project tendering and execution phases.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality requirements, and industry standards.
  • Review and evaluate quality documentation, inspection records, and manufacturing processes.
  • Identify quality risks, process deficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Support data gathering, analysis, and reporting related to quality performance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
  • Capture lessons learned and recommend improvements to quality execution processes.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and project quality planning activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of four (4) years of quality-related experience.
  • Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Quality Engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Welding and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) background strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with:

  • Weld maps

  • WPS/PQR documentation

  • Welding inspection reports

  • Fabrication and manufacturing quality processes

  • Familiarity with NDT methods including:

  • Visual Testing (VT)

  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)

  • Radiographic Testing (RT)

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

  • Experience in oil & gas, subsea equipment, pressure vessels, offshore systems, pipelines, or heavy manufacturing environments.

  • CWI, ASNT, or related quality certifications are a plus.
