TE Connectivity in Greensboro, NC is looking for a Quality & Reliability Engineer to monitor and support the quality performance of external vendors. Maintain continuous communication with suppliers to clarify technical matters and follow up on concerns from manufacturing related to raw materials. Establish statistical confidence by determining appropriate sample sizes, acceptable error margins, and confidence levels. Design and develop experiments using full and fractional factorial techniques. Create sampling plans using attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods. Maintain statistical process control by applying tools such as: Demerit/unit charts; Zone charting; Chi-square (²) charts for distributions; Individual-median/range charts for multi-stream processes. Perform data analysis using hypothesis testing, normal distribution, and process capability analysis. Review and analyze corrective action reports from vendors to ensure effectiveness, utilizing various root cause and problem-solving tools. Support containment activities in manufacturing to ensure product quality from external vendors. Monitor new product launches and follow up with suppliers to ensure alignment with quality standards. Participate in commercial agreement reviews with internal teams and external vendors to align quality criteria and expectations. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practice; participating in professional societies; maintaining American society of quality control certified quality engineer qualification. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or foreign equivalent), plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.

Special Requirements: Requires 3 years of experience with the following:

1) Core tools experience - Five essential quality tools developed and promoted by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) to ensure product quality and process consistency across the supply chain (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).

2) Supplier Quality Management - Managing supplier performance, audits, and quality improvement plans.

3) Root Cause Analysis & 8D Reporting - Using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa) for problem resolution.

4) Communication & Collaboration - Cross-functional communication with internal teams and external suppliers.

5) Technical Documentation Review - Reading technical drawings, specifications, and material certs.
