    Job Summary

    This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of quality initiatives along with the performance of products manufactured. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of Quality Management Systems, ISO certifications, as well as maintaining quality certifications to ensure quality in all products which results in a strong product reputation, reliable performance and thus, leading and or growing market share. Standard business hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with the possibility of overtime as needed.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead the Plant Quality System / Program

    • Oversee the overall quality management system within the plant operations.

    • Ensure compliance with internal standards, ISO requirements, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.

    • Lead and promote the Carlisle Operating System (COS) initiatives involving lean manufacturing and six sigma.

    • Raw Material & Finished Goods Oversight

    • Ensure all incoming raw materials adhere to specifications.

    • Develop, audit, and enforce production process specifications.

    • Develop and maintain a finished good grading standard.

    • Quality Systems Development and Continuous Improvement

    • Develop and implement a quality management system and maintain certifications to the ISO standards.

    • Apply results from quality audits, customer feedback, scrap data, and defect reports to direct process development and improvements.

    • Identify improvement opportunities across production processes and direct internal resources to evaluate and implement solutions.

    • Leadership & Department Management

    • Provide leadership to the entire quality department and technical resources.

    • Supervise technicians.

    • Justify expenditures and manage resources effectively.

    • Lead activities that enhance process control and product quality.

    • Oversee or conduct in-depth root cause analysis on defects, scrap, or process issues.

    • Lead problem solving events and identify corrective and preventative actions.

    • Audits, Compliance & Document Control

    • Lead and support all internal and external audits

    • Ensure document control practices align with the QMS.

    • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and availability of quality records.

    • Serve as the technical quality liaison between the plant and support functions (R&I, Quality Services, etc.).

    • Collaborate with other managers to prioritize improvement projects and validate solutions.

    Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Knowledge:

    • Statistical process control

    • Designing experiments

    • General understanding of business finance, accounting principles, and their application to Carlisle Construction Materials

    • Total quality management concepts

    • Continuous quality improvement concepts

    • Local, state, and federal regulations relating to hazardous waste

    • Employee involvement and development techniques

    • Skills:

    • Work prioritization

    • Product/process specification development and writing

    • Public speaking

    • Supervising personnel

    • Planning work, directing work, disciplining, developing personnel, performance appraisal, recruiting, and hiring personnel

    • Training personnel on quality and process development concepts and technologies

    • Operating personal computer software such as the Microsoft Suite of Applications

    • Applying inferential, multivariant, and descriptive statistics in decision making

    • Budget development and resource justification

    • Goal setting and strategic planning

    • Abilities:

    • Writing concise technical reports

    • Making clear and concise oral presentations to employees and management

    • Working with and managing a team of personnel

    • Communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, management, and other employees in the plant

    Education and Experience:

    • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering with coursework in polymer sciences, management, finance, business and statistics.
    • Four (4) years of progressively responsible processing experience, quality techniques, and supervision of technical personnel.

    Working Conditions:

    • 60% in an office setting, 20% work in a manufacturing plant, 20% in a Quality lab.
    • Exposure to loud noise levels in the manufacturing plant (PPE Provided).

    The position typically operates during standard business hours of Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm), with regular flexibility required to accommodate touch points with all operating shifts. The employee is expected to comply with all company policies related to data security, confidentiality, and remote work standards.

    Periodic travel may be required for team meetings, training, or company events, with advance notice provided. The company will reimburse travel expenses in accordance with its travel and expense policy.
