Job Title: Quality ManagerJob Description

The Quality Manager leads all aspects of the organization's quality management system and drives continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This role ensures full compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations while overseeing product quality, supplier quality, auditing activities, corrective and preventive actions, and the development of quality personnel. The position requires a broad quality background, strong root cause analysis expertise, and proven leadership in implementing process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Develop, implement, and update quality procedures, control plans, inspection criteria, and quality documentation to support robust quality processes.
  • Monitor and report key quality performance metrics, including customer complaints, returns, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements across all manufacturing operations.
  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve product quality and process efficiency.
  • Facilitate structured root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, 5 Why Analysis, FMEA, and SPC to resolve complex quality issues.
  • Drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their sustainability throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal quality audits to assess system effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage external customer, certification, and regulatory audits, ensuring readiness, participation, and follow-through.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit findings and non-conformances and maintain documentation required for ISO certification compliance.
  • Manage supplier quality performance by tracking metrics, addressing issues, and leading supplier development initiatives.
  • Support supplier audits and corrective action activities, collaborating with suppliers to improve product quality and reduce defects.
  • Work closely with suppliers to address vendor-related quality issues and implement sustainable solutions that prevent recurrence.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop quality personnel and inspectors, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Establish clear quality expectations, standards, and accountability across the organization to ensure consistent adherence to quality practices.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to define and achieve shared quality objectives.
  • Promote and reinforce a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 7+ years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience managing and maintaining ISO 9001-compliant quality management systems.
  • Hands-on expertise in root cause analysis methodologies and tools, including 8D and 5 Why Analysis.
  • Proven experience leading corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verifying their effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, conduct, and manage internal and external quality audits.
  • Solid background in supplier quality management, including performance monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience overseeing quality personnel and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage multiple quality projects, audits, and improvement initiatives simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing quality procedures, control plans, and inspection criteria.
  • Familiarity with FMEA for risk assessment and prevention of potential failures.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) for monitoring and improving process capability.
  • background in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for structured continuous improvement.
  • Ability to promote a culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

This is a Permanent position based out of Stow, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
