Nesco Resource is in search of a Quality Manager to work for one of our clients based in Shelton, CT.
SUMMARY:

Overall responsibility for managing the quality department in order to establish advanced quality engineering to enhance product quality, reliability and acceptance. Seeking candidates with experience in the metal stamping and automotive industry along with AIAG core tools expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set, direct and support priorities of the Quality team.
  • Review/re-set objectives in conjunction with on-time performance evaluations.
  • Develop, implement and improve departmental metrics.
  • Drive continual improvement process within the Quality department.
  • Develop a continuous learning process for all staff (proper measurement techniques, identifications fit/function – critical characteristics, standardization of acceptance criteria).
  • Ensure client's (nonconformance reporting), inspection, SPC, gauge maintenance, Cost of Quality, internal audits, etc. are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Lead/support problem resolution and responsiveness of all customer quality related issues.
  • Customer liaison.
  • Review all 8D reports and corrective actions implemented.
  • Assist and coordinate the following Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) disciplines:
    • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
    • Process Control Plan (PCP)
    • Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (PFMEA)
    • Process Flow Chart (PFC)
    • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Actively participate in APQP, FMEA and quote review meetings.
  • Ensure division maintains IATF 16949 certification.
  • Improve and maintain accurate quality procedures and manuals.
  • Ensure completed implementation of all relevant procedures and instructions.
  • Compliance with relevant policies, procedures and instructions including Code of Conduct.
  • Periodic travel; attend supplier conferences.
