Job Title: Quality Manager 4

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Duration: 12 Months, with transition to the client after 1 year
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality systems, product assurance, manufacturing quality, customer quality initiatives, and audit/compliance activities within a high-tech manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in Quality Systems, Quality Assurance Management, electromechanical integration and PCB/PCBA assembly, Lean Manufacturing, customer-facing quality management, and regulatory/compliance audits. This role will work closely with management, engineering, production, suppliers, customers, and quality teams to resolve technical quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and support organizational quality objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Research, evaluate, and present information related to business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends, and the design and development of new products.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems and product assurance programs.
- Contribute with senior management to formulate and establish company policies, operating procedures, and quality goals.
- Review product assurance reports and support management in preparing fiscal budgets for quality programs.
- Lead management meetings with product assurance department heads to establish, review, and coordinate organizational policies, functions, operations, controls, and procedures.
- Interface directly with customers regarding technical and quality issues, improvement initiatives, and quality requirements.
- Manage customer audits and regulatory/compliance agency audits.
- Review technical problems and departmental procedures and recommend appropriate solutions or process improvements.
- Work with material and component vendors to evaluate supply quality, production capacity, order fulfillment capability, and vendor quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on quality assurance for new products and manufactured products and support resolution of product quality issues.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Support corrective action, problem solving, and cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality metrics and reporting to support quality performance and organizational objectives.
- Lead and develop quality teams while coordinating activities across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other functions.
- Review technical publications and industry developments to remain current with quality and manufacturing technologies and practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
- 6+ years of experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Systems or related areas.
- Previous Quality Manager or managerial experience.
- 5+ years of Electromechanical Integration and/or PCB/PCBA Assembly experience.
- 3+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Strong Quality Assurance Management experience.
- Experience managing customer and regulatory/compliance audits.
- Customer-facing technical and quality issue resolution experience.
- Manufacturing/production quality experience.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS) experience.
- Supplier/vendor quality management experience.
- Corrective action and problem-solving experience.
- Product quality and NPI quality experience.
- Compliance management and quality metrics/reporting experience.
- Cross-functional leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Compliance training experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- CAPA, 8D, and RCA experience.
- Lean Six Sigma experience.
- ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 experience.
- Experience with major EMS manufacturers.
Work Requirements:
- Onsite work in Milpitas, California.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with management, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and quality teams.
