MARS Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Quality Manager for an exciting opportunity in Lomira, Wisconsin. Our client is a recognized leader in the wear-resistant cutting components industry and is looking for a quality-focused professional who can make a meaningful impact.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and oversee the organization's Quality Management System and drive a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within a manufacturing environment.

The Quality Manager will lead a team of quality professionals and work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to ensure products and manufacturing processes consistently meet or exceed customer and industry requirements.

This position will have ownership of the Quality Management System, including ISO 9001 compliance, APQP, PPAP, CAPA, nonconforming material, metrology, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead and maintain the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.

Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for Quality team members.

Establish quality objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics aligned with organizational goals.

Partner with cross-functional teams to support New Product Development (NPD) and ensure products meet customer requirements.

Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop, document, and validate robust manufacturing process controls.

Evaluate process capability and implement improvements to ensure consistent product quality.

Lead and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities for OEM customers.

Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate suppliers and ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.

Oversee supplier quality activities and support supplier improvement initiatives.

Lead company metrology activities and ensure required equipment calibrations are completed on schedule.

Champion Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes, including root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

Lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D and Shainin/Red X.

Manage the nonconforming material process, including investigation, disposition, and corrective actions.

Manage Quality department operating expenses and capital expenditures.

Promote Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing operations.

Work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues.

Support customer and supplier visits, conferences, and other quality-related activities as needed.

Travel requirements are expected to be minimal.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.

5+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or Manufacturing Operations.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.

Working knowledge and practical experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Strong understanding and experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).

Experience managing or supporting PPAP processes, preferably with OEM customers.

Experience with formal problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Shainin, or Red X.

Experience with CAPA, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.

Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively across multiple functions.

Preferred Qualifications

ASQ certification such as CQE or equivalent.

ISO Lead Auditor certification.

Experience with Zeiss CMM equipment.

Experience programming or operating Zeiss Calypso software.

Experience working with OEM manufacturing customers.

Experience with process capability studies and statistical quality tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing Quality leader who can combine strategic QMS ownership with practical manufacturing problem-solving. This individual should be comfortable leading a Quality team, working directly with manufacturing and engineering teams, interacting with customers and suppliers, and driving measurable improvements in product quality and operational performance.
