    Job Description:

    This position will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the quality and failure analysis functions within StampTech driving elimination/reduction of waste.  This position will be responsible for maintaining and continually improving the world-class levels of product quality in a company-operated manufacturing facility and establish quality specifications to meet and exceed evolving expectations of its customers and market. Specific responsibilities include planning, directing, and leading the company's Quality Management System & Processes assuring adherence with both internal & external requirements, thus ensuring that the Quality Management System is effectively implemented throughout the organization to assure operational goals are met and exceeded on a continuous basis.

    StampTech Fasteners TM Division Description:

    The ITW StampTech Fastener TM Division serves the major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market.  The division supplies stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies that leverage our deep-draw stamping technologies.  The annual revenue for the division is approximately $160M.  Locations include Gallatin, TN, Lexington, KY & Naugatuck, CT.  

    The Division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions and application engineering.  In addition to ITW’s industry leading research and development capabilities, StampTech Fasteners TM enhances our customers’ competitive advantage by maintaining advanced engineering and manufacturing facilities in North America, exchanging product, process, and benchmarking information with sister units worldwide and ccontinually improving processes, material, and designs to ensure every product provides value and meets customer expectations.

    Primary Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for driving sustainable quality improvements down to the floor level upstream in the conversion process that translates into elimination/reduction of waste costs.
    • Champions non-compliance corrective actions and read-across activities and projects to other areas of the business eliminating repeat occurrences.
    • Serves as liaison and point of contact between Customer (Automotive OEMs and Tiers) and the organization.
    • Supports the development of strategy and able to translate the vision and expectations into tactical application to meet business objectives in relation to quality operational initiatives and KPIs.
    • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with plant leadership to maximize product & process reliability and minimize costs.
    • Develop and lead excellence in use of quality and automotive core tools application (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, APQP, or Ishikawa).
    • Champion of internal audit and adherence to IATF-16949. Follows and stays current with IATF-16949 procedures, policies, manuals, and subscriptions. Aligns employees with quality behavior and quality standards (ISO IATF and consequently ISO-9001, ISO-14001, CQI-9, OHSAS, MMOG, and other related systems).
    • Manages the review of manual, procedures, work instructions, forms, and entire plant quality system for compliance to current automotive standards and related agencies (i.e., AIAG, CSR, etc.).
    • Responsible for the identification, development, and sourcing of talent while creating a diverse and inclusive culture.
    • Actively engages in the continual improvement of safety and environmental initiatives for the organization.

    Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

    • Min 5 years of experience in relevant manufacturing processes and automotive industry preferably tier 1 or 2.
    • Advanced knowledge of Automotive OEM quality standards, systems, and processes.
    • Successful experience within a Tier 1 or 2 Automotive Supplier manufacturing facility.
    • Experience leading the APQP process to successful conclusion.
    • Working knowledge of ISO-9001/IATF-16949 requirements.
    • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent/relevant experience preferred.
    • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent is preferred.
    • Great organizational and time management abilities.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Effectively communicate in a professional demeanor when dealing with the public or any level of employees. 
    • Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • Ability to work in a team environment or independently
    • Ability to work overtime
