Quality Assurance Specialist at Shiel Sexton

Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager.  The Quality Assurance Specialist plans, develops, coordinates, and supervises all project quality functions. Responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of the corporation’s quality procedures and processes and an organizational structure to carry the program forward.

Role Expectations and Competencies

• Act as the company Quality expert related to field operations and the framework implemented by management to ensure successful project outcomes
• Provide Quality Manager services on project(s).
• Provide training to project teams to assist in implementing the Quality Program.
• Assist project teams in coming up with the job specific quality plan and assessing the definable features of work to track throughout construction.
• Attend and be an active participant in key project meetings related to Quality and influence quick resolutions to open issues
• Act as a subject matter expert for Procore utilization as a tool within the Quality Program
• Track all non-conformance issues and leverage the lessons learned across projects.
• Develop and maintain tracking metrics for quality assurance.
• Contribute to corporate lessons-learned platform.
• Act as/become a subject matter expert (SME) in a specific area of construction (ie. Envelope, MEP, etc)
• Actively pursue continued education and training for professional development.
• Engage in local/national organizations that contribute to the Quality Department’s continued growth and strategic vision.

  Qualifications

• 4 Year degree in Construction Management or Architecture or related field
• 3-5 or more years of construction related work experience
• 2-5 years quality control experience in construction or related field.
• Thorough knowledge of quality concepts as they relate to construction.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement an effective quality program
• Demonstrated knowledge of the general installation practices of all CSI divisions
• Leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others while maintaining effective relationships with internal/external customers by exceeding their requirements and expectations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and coaching skills required.
• Knowledge of the current state of the quality industry standards, practices, norms, legal positions, and history. Willingness to stay current and updated on developing processes, standards and overall construction industry standards as related to delivering quality work.
