Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead and develop a cross-functional quality organization within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving quality performance across the plant, supporting both internal operations and external customer requirements, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automotive quality systems, team leadership, and continuous improvement, with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary quality team, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, and laboratory/testing functions
  • Oversee plant-wide quality performance, including tracking and improving key metrics such as PPM, scrap, and customer complaints
  • Drive resolution of internal and external quality issues, ensuring effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Support both production and product development phases, including launch activities and ongoing manufacturing quality
  • Act as a key point of contact for customer quality concerns, including participation in audits, escalations, and corrective action responses (e.g., 8D)
  • Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including lessons learned and process standardization across the organization
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain to improve product and process quality
  • Maintain and enhance quality systems, procedures, and documentation

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment with a focus on quality
  • Prior leadership experience managing teams within a plant setting
  • Strong understanding of automotive quality systems and tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis)
  • Experience working directly with OEM customers and handling quality-related communication and escalations
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO standards
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Familiarity with quality tools and software such as Minitab and CAD viewers
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent experience with relevant certifications will also be considered
