Description
- Lead all quality control operations, quality systems, and standard operating procedures across two manufacturing locations.
- Maintain and continuously improve ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 compliance programs.
- Serve as the primary laboratory representative for A2LA accreditation activities, audits, surveillance visits, and recertification requirements.
- Plan and manage calibration schedules for laboratory and production inspection equipment.
- Ensure all measurement systems remain traceable to applicable national and international standards.
- Maintain calibration procedures, uncertainty budgets, equipment records, and laboratory documentation.
- Operate and oversee advanced dimensional measurement equipment, including optical and precision metrology systems.
- Analyze quality metrics, calibration data, MSA studies, and Gage R&R results to drive improvements.
- Lead investigations involving nonconforming products, out-of-tolerance equipment, and customer complaints.
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions across both facilities.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and process performance.
- Conduct internal audits and identify opportunities to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Train, mentor, and develop laboratory and quality personnel.
- Manage external relationships with calibration providers, auditors, and accreditation organizations.
- Establish and communicate quality performance metrics aligned with business objectives.
Profile
- 7+ years of quality control and calibration/metrology laboratory experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation requirements.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience supporting or leading accreditation and external audit activities; A2LA experience highly preferred.
- Ability to conduct root cause investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
- Strong background in calibration, measurement systems, and dimensional metrology.
- Experience performing internal audits and maintaining QMS documentation.
- Proven leadership experience mentoring technicians and collaborating across departments.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, tooling, fabrication, and Lean methodologies is preferred.
- Experience utilizing measurement systems such as Starrett HDV 300, Pratt & Whitney Super-Micrometers, optical comparators, or similar equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is preferred but not required.
