Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description

Maintain a robust quality management system (QMS) that aligns with industry standards and customer specifications. Lead and manage the quality assurance team, ensuring the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished products. Monitor all stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address any quality issues or non-conformances. Collaborate with production, engineering, and project management teams to ensure product quality throughout the manufacturing process. Establish and maintain quality control documentation, including inspection reports, audits, and test results. Develop and conduct internal and external audits to ensure adherence to quality standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, AS9100). Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control procedures and best practices. Work closely with suppliers and customers to resolve any quality concerns and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. Track and report key quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for continuous improvement. Maintain a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of the quality process.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred). 5+ years of experience in quality management or quality assurance in a manufacturing or job shop environment. In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), ISO standards, and industry certifications such as AS9100, IATF 16949, etc. Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team of quality professionals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions. Proficiency with quality tools such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, and CAPA. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Experience with inspection equipment and techniques (CMM, calipers, micrometers, etc.). Preferred Skills: Experience with CNC machining, aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing. Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma). Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.
