Raba Kistner is seeking a Quality Management Specialist-Consultants Division to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The Quality Management Specialist - Consultant Division (QMSC) primary responsibility is to assist in ensuring the division's services, processes, and deliverables consistently meet our defined quality objectives and standards, in addition to meeting regulatory requirements and client expectations. Specifically, the QMSC will be responsible in the assistance of developing, updating existing policies, procedures, and methods of operando, and monitoring the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS). The QMSC will be a resource to Consultants Division Operation Managers in the implementation of the firm's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and quality management practices down to the unit level. The QMSC will perform audits to ensure compliance and assist in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitor the progress of our quality management program.
Other responsibilities include:
- Build, develop, execute, monitor, and update the division wide quality plan, policies and objectives to ensure that staff members comply with our quality management objectives, which will be in alignment with ISO9001.
- Monitor client feedback, staff performance, and internal and external audit findings and responses and work directly with Operation Managers and other staff to address quality concerns, such as nonconformities, complaints, and other deficiencies. Employee recognition for commendable efforts is part of this effort to incentivize continuous improvement and improve moral.
- Provide mentorship, professional development, communication to other professionals, technical, clerical and support staff in the Profit Center offices. This includes interfacing (face to face, written and verbal, etc) with staff in all Profit Center offices to accomplish the duties described herein. This includes training (one on one, webinar, group, email/electronic, etc) on SOPs, company culture, and quality in general.
- Conduct audits to verify compliance with the division quality management system. As deficiencies are discovered, work with Profit Center offices to identify root cause(s) and correct those deficiencies effectively. This includes support in preparation of the root cause analysis and/or opportunity for improvement. Some additional actions taken may include evaluating work and personnel against established performance standards and procedures and providing additional training and mentorship.
- Oversee and assist the Profit Centers in developing and maintaining local office quality management systems that align with the overarching division QMS. This includes, but not limited to, monitoring, overseeing, and assisting with proficiency programs and audits, internal and external, as well as staff performance/training, equipment maintenance, calibration, and tracking for the various offices.
- Assist in implementing and managing database systems; assist various Profit Center offices in implementing database systems.
- Assist current and new Profit Center offices in onboarding, providing development, mentorship, and coaching for staff as it pertains to the Division's quality objectives.
- Assist the Division with developing SOP's and procedures in support of expanding services, scopes, and technological innovations and tools.
- Adhere and support Consultant's safety activities in alignment with the firm's safety culture and monitor KPI's to ensure continuous improvement and recognize downward trends that warrant immediate improvement.
- Notify Direct Report, COO and CEO of all potential disputes that may lead to legal claims or litigation. Support CEO has requested to settle disputes or defend against litigation.
- Demonstrate a high level of competence with the ability to apply skills and knowledge to practical problems and solutions and to manage workload, priorities, and deadlines.
- Maintain the security of confidential information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or certification in a field related to Engineering or Construction Materials Testing or Auditing, or Quality.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess a valid driver's license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet company's auto insurability requirements.
Possess knowledge of the testing procedure used in a geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratory (ASTM, TxDOT, AASTHO, USCOE, etc.). Communicate both written and orally to present organized and thorough information to the intended audience. Intermediate Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, etc. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
