Description

Are you passionate about laboratory testing, problem-solving, and ensuring products meet the highest quality standards? We are seeking a Quality Control Batch Adjuster to join our Quality team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality products.

This position is approximately 90% laboratory-based and 10% production floor support, offering a great opportunity to develop analytical, quality, and manufacturing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control testing on production batches, including:

  • Color evaluation

  • Gloss testing

  • Viscosity testing

  • Physical property testing

  • Analyze results and determine batch adjustments required to bring products within specification.

  • Verify all production batches meet established quality standards prior to filling.

  • Ensure products remain within specification throughout the filling process.

  • Prepare and approve final fill check panels for production.

  • Maintain accurate records of batch adjustments, fill checks, test results, and related documentation.

  • Follow ISO procedures and quality system requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager regarding product approvals, quality concerns, and process improvements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and short-term departmental projects.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

  • Handle hazardous materials safely and comply with all environmental and safety procedures.

  • Transfer hazardous waste materials when required and ensure proper labeling and storage practices.

  • Participate in annual RCRA and safety training programs.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of Quality Control laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing techniques and quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
  • Comfortable working with laboratory chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.

Preferred

  • Experience in paint, coatings, chemical, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Wet chemistry experience.
  • Previous production or manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with pulling production samples and supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wood Dale, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
