Quality Lab Technician
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Lab Technician for a specialty chemical manufacturer located in Stow, Ohio. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a background in quality control and chemistry to join a dynamic team focused on ensuring product excellence.
In this role, you will work both in the laboratory and in production to perform quality assurance and control activities. Your hands-on testing, analysis, and collaboration will help guarantee that products meet strict specifications. Hours:
6:00am 2:30pm, Monday Friday (1st Shift)
Pay:
$23.00/hour
Key Responsibilities:
Perform testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products following established SOPs to ensure conformance to specifications
Prepare samples and conduct laboratory analyses
Provide batch adjustments to meet QC specifications
Assist with calibration and basic maintenance of lab equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
Follow and support company quality management systems and procedures, ensuring adherence to standards
Ensure proper documentation and data integrity within systems (ERP, MS Excel)
Ensure traceability and proper handling of non-conforming materials
Collaborate with Production and Product Development teams to resolve issues
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma (or equivalent) with relevant experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment; 2 or 4-year degree a plus
13+ years of laboratory or quality control experience preferred
Experience in chemical manufacturing, pigments, or additives preferred
Experience with laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, UV-Vis, IC) preferred
Knowledge of quality systems, SPC, and Lean principles preferred
Basic math and data analysis skills
Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and move materials as needed
Experience with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
Visual ability to perform detailed analytical work (close vision, depth perception, focus adjustment)
Associates or Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Science, Quality, or related field a plus
