    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Performs required product quality testing, documents results, and follows all safety and PPE directives. Works with minimal direction from Manager or Lead; has some latitude in

    determining work objectives and goals.

    WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

    • Adheres to the environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures, and suggests

    continuous improvement ideas for quality management systems.

    • Works well with teammates and is able to complete additional tasks required from quality managers or process engineers.
    • Tests and inspects Raw Material, EPDM and Accessory at various stages of the production process to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
    • Performs all lab procedures including printing labels, testing, and complete and accurate

    record keeping.

    • Tests products at specified stages in the production process for a variety of qualities such as Viscosity, Solids, Density, MDR, Mooney, Tensile, Elongation, Shelf Stability, raw material etc. Be able to interpret data to make sound decisions.
    • Identifies and labels nonconforming material to be reworked or as scrap.
    • Supports investigations of customer complaints and production issues.
    • Operates, maintains, calibrates, and checks analytical instruments and equipment.
    • Provide training to new teammates on test methods and equipment maintenance to insure compliance of ISO9001 certification.
    • Determines supply needs for the quality laboratory, and purchase supplies.
    • Provides audit support.
    • Helps determine conformity of raw material and product through testing or COA.
    • Maintains nonconformity database.
    • Work as a team to document, control, and disposition of any nonconformities.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    Education:

    • High School Diploma Required
    • Bachelors degree preferred

    Field of Study Preferred:

    • Any STEM field

    Required Work Experience:

    • 5-10 years in a manufacturing QC Laboratory environment
    • Industry experience in EPDM, Roofing, rubber, plastics, or chemical processing preferred
    • Key Skills: QMS (ISO 9001, ASTM), lab equipment, data analytics, continuous improvement, root cause problem-solving.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time. Regularly operates a computer, computer accessories, phone and specialized lab equipment.
    • Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Preferred Working experience with Six Sigma principles (Green/Black Belt), 5S principles, and Root Cause Analysis.
    • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
