JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Quality Intern is responsible for the effective, efficient, and proactive execution of their activities on assisting with new product launches and sustaining existing products.
Essential Functions
• Uses quality tools to implement improvements including process flowcharting, Pareto analysis, correlation and regression analysis, significance tests, design of experiments, statistical process control, gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R), and trend analysis techniques.
• Monitors engineering processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
• Performs quality reviews and assist with internal audits; evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Assist or lead process and equipment validations.
• May assist and process customer quality complaints.
• Assists the development of essential QMS deliverables including, but not limited to complaint analysis, risk analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, CAPA, and process/equipment/software verification/validation.
• Assist in the development, review and processing of change requests.
• Work with production to document current process parameters and develop written instructions to eliminate unnecessary process variations.
• Participates in pre- and post-production reviews providing engineering support.
• Collects the required data and chart the quality goals established by the management team.
• Supports measuring and analyzing key metrics to monitor performance.
• Support productivity improvements by providing quality guidance.
• Works with cross-functional teams to solve production and quality problems.
• Support quality, engineering and compliance by complying with all Quality Management Systems (QMS or PQS) documentation requirements and establishing/supporting plan(s) to meet/exceed Niowave goals for Quality that support Safety, Compliance, Six Sigma Quality, On-Time Delivery (OTD) and financial objectives.
• Support Y-90 production team or other internal NW teams as needed with various requests. Examples may be chemical experiments, resources needed for preparing production runs, radiation clean up, inventory assistance, etc.

Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree (in process) in Engineering or equivalent combination of work experience, certifications, and/or degree required
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands
The position operates in a professional office and industrial environments which includes the use of standard office equipment and/or machinery related to the production of medical isotopes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to (20 - 50) pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
