Job Summary: Quality Inspector - 1st Shift | Santa Fe Springs, CA | $40.50/hr | 3-Month Contract
About the Role
Join a dynamic manufacturing team as a Quality Inspector at our Santa Fe Springs, CA location. You''ll play a critical role in ensuring product excellence and safety by utilizing advanced inspection techniques and equipment. This is a contract position through the end of the year, with the possibility of extension, offering exposure to cutting-edge processes and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished components using measurement and testing equipment
- Operate and program CMM equipment (preferred), and conduct complex part set-ups and inspections
- Verify Statistical Process Control (SPC) data for final acceptance of parts
- Document and report on discrepant materials, including inspection records through the MES System
- Inspect returned goods, define discrepancies, and generate required reports
- Prepare certificates of conformance and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
- Recommend improvements and assist with the development of inspection instructions
- Segregate and control nonconforming materials according to company procedures
- Read and interpret technical drawings, policies, and procedures effectively
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding quality issues and inspection results
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational/technical education in related discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience in quality inspection using general measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, depth indicators)
- Proficient in documentation and record-keeping within a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Solid computer skills, including MS Office and Excel
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with calibration of precision measuring equipment
- Basic to intermediate math skills (Geometry, Basic Trigonometry)
- CMM operation and programming experience
