Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00/hour
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (6:00AM - 2:30PM or 7:00AM - 3:30PM)
We’re looking for a meticulous Quality Inspector to evaluate precision optical components and camera lenses in a clean room for a growing optics company in San Diego, California. If you have a sharp eye for surface defects, know your way around inspection standards, and take pride in catching what others miss, this role is for you.
This is hands-on, detail-intensive work at the bench. You’ll spend your day with magnification and precision measurement tools, and your work directly protects product quality.
Inspect camera lenses and parts for surface defects, scratches, digs, and other flaws using magnification and precision inspection tools.
Check parts against written acceptance criteria.
Measure parts with calipers and other calibrated tools.
Read mechanical drawings (blueprints) to confirm parts match specifications.
Follow sample-rate inspection plans.
Assemble optical components when needed.
Record inspection results and keep accurate quality records.
Follow ISO 9001 standards and clean room protocols.
1-2+ years in quality inspection, precision assembly, lab work, or a comparable role.
Background in optics, medical device, semiconductor, or other precision manufacturing.
Experience using calipers and other precision measurement tools.
Steady hands for precise work with small, intricate parts and comfort with close-tolerance work.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical, efficient approach.
Comfortable working in a clean room for full shifts.
Comfortable using a computer.
High school diploma or equivalent and authorization to work in the US.
Ability to read mechanical drawings (blueprints).
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality procedures.
Familiarity with optical inspection standards.
The expected range for this role is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and job-related factors. Final pay will be determined during the selection process and may vary accordingly.
