Position Summary: Quality Inspector
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of landing gear assemblies and subcomponents.
- Conduct receiving inspections and stock purge activities for supplier components.
- Review documentation to ensure required inspections and sign-offs are complete.
- Document inspection results and product discrepancies in accordance with established procedures.
- Interpret design and technical data such as blueprints and BOMs.
- Support quality audits, inspection method development, and multiple product lines.
- Work under general supervision and adapt to changing work priorities.
Responsibilities: Quality Inspector
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on landing gear assemblies and subcomponents.
- Conduct receiving inspections and stock purge activities.
- Complete daily startup audits of books and gears in the inspection queue.
- Review documentation for completeness before products advance to the next process step.
- Perform inspections according to procedures and maintain inspection records.
- Document product discrepancies following defined processes and procedures.
- Interpret blueprints, BOMs, and other design data.
- Apply GD&T knowledge using appropriate inspection methods and equipment.
- Assist Quality Engineering with development of inspection methods and procedures.
- Support multiple product lines and/or commodities.
- Perform product and quality system audits as required.
- Maintain required skills, knowledge, and certifications.
- Prioritize multiple tasks to support production schedules.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Quality Inspector
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of aerospace assembly/manufacturing inspection experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience using general measurement tools per inspection requirements.
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee status).
- Ability to work under general supervision and adapt to changing work scope.
Preferred Qualifications: Quality Inspector
- Minimum 5 years of landing gear assembly experience.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation of technical data and quality procedures.
- Experience creating and completing AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Working knowledge of CATIA and SAP.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under stress.
- Ability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds (with lift assist or buddy system for heavier loads).
