    Quality Inspector

    Location: Flowood, MS

    A growing custom metal fabrication and welding manufacturer is seeking a Quality Inspector to support quality assurance efforts throughout the production process. This position is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, work-in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and company quality standards.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Inspect incoming materials and verify conformity to specifications and engineering drawings.
    • Identify and document materials and ensure proper traceability.
    • Inspect work-in-process and finished products prior to shipment.
    • Verify that quality procedures are followed throughout all stages of production.
    • Utilize measuring and testing equipment including:
      • Calipers
      • Micrometers
      • Depth and Height Gauges
      • Tape Measures
      • Paint Thickness Testers
      • Rockwell Hardness Testers
      • Gauge Blocks
      • pH Meters
      • Thermometers
      • Weld Fillet Gauges
    • Maintain accurate inspection records and complete all required documentation.
    • Review product specifications for new and existing products.
    • Assist with identifying quality concerns and support corrective action efforts.
    • Work in a manufacturing shop environment that is not climate controlled.
    • Report directly to the Engineering and Quality Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Previous manufacturing quality experience strongly preferred, particularly in sheet metal fabrication, welding, or metal manufacturing environments.
    • Ability to accurately use and read precision measuring instruments.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints required; welding print knowledge is highly desirable.
    • Understanding of quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001:2015, ASTM, and IEEE standards is preferred but not required.
    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to distinguish colors.
    • Combination of relevant education and quality-related work experience preferred.

    Additional Requirements

    • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and perform detailed inspections with a high degree of accuracy.
