Description

Quality Inspector - Tulsa, OK

$20-$25 per hour

Day Shift 6am - 3:30 pm

Mon-Thur - OT on Friday

 

 

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

  • Inspects raw materials, work in process, and finished goods for conformity to product requirements.

  • Capable of performing First Article Inspections and managing inspection records.

  • Controls nonconforming products to ensure they are not processed further or delivered to customer.

  • Calibrates some inspection equipment and maintains calibration records.

  • Continually improves processes (production, support, and administrative) to meet company objectives (sales, on-time deliveries, efficiency, reduction in returns).

  • Uses ISO 9001 criteria, root cause/corrective action, preventive action, management review, plan-do-check-act cycle (PDCA), basic quality tools, and statistical process control (SPC) to improve products and processes.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: (Minimum education, training, skills and experience)

 

  • Must be capable of using a variety of inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, depth mics, drop indicators, pin gages, thread gages, profilometers, functional gages, optical comparator, coordinate measuring machine, and measuring table.

  • Familiarity with machine shop, stamping, brake and welding processes is required.

  • Must be able to read and understand prints, finish specifications, bills of material, routers, and work instructions.

  • Must understand acceptance sampling and be able to correctly use ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 (MIL-STD-105E) or equivalent for attributes sampling.

  • Must be able to manage or assess processes for document control, configuration control, records control, and control of nonconforming product as well as maintain related records.

  • Must be organized and capable of maintaining inspection and related records.

  • Must be able to calibrate precision instruments and maintain calibration database.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have basic project management skills, conflict resolution, time management and team dynamics skills.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a team.
