Quality Inspector

Location: Battle Creek, MI
Pay: $16.00/hour
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Job Summary

We are hiring a Quality Inspector to help ensure products meet quality and customer requirements. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Quality Inspector will perform inspections, record production data, follow standardized work instructions, and help maintain a safe and organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality and production requirements.
  • Follow standardized work instructions and quality procedures.
  • Accurately collect and record inspection and project data.
  • Perform visual inspections and identify defects or quality concerns.
  • Use basic measuring and inspection tools as needed.
  • Help ensure work areas meet 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Communicate quality concerns to team members and leadership.
  • Assist team members with quality-related tasks as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
  • Complete required training within established timeframes.
  • Maintain professional appearance and workplace conduct.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, or quality inspection experience preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools is a plus.
  • Experience with basic measuring tools such as calipers or micrometers is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of measurements and quality standards.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully complete required background and pre-employment screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend as needed.
  • Ability to handle and lift items weighing approximately 10–50 pounds for extended periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors, including red, yellow, and green.
  • Ability to work around dust, mist, vapors, and fumes while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment, including safety glasses and appropriate hair protection.
