Title: Entry-Level Quality Inspector
Location: Elgin, IL
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: 1st shift (6a-2:30p)
Compensation: $20-22hr

Overview:
Our client is seeking an Entry-Level Quality Inspector to support quality inspection and testing activities within a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in quality assurance. The Quality Inspector will learn inspection techniques, quality standards, and documentation processes while assisting with incoming, in-process, and final product inspections. This role works closely with production and quality teams to help ensure products meet company and customer quality requirements.

Job Duties:
  • Assist with incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and finished products.
  • Perform visual inspections and basic dimensional inspections using calipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
  • Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Support data entry into quality and production systems.
  • Identify and report defects or non-conforming materials to the Quality team.
  • Assist with sorting, containment, and rework activities as needed.
  • Follow ISO procedures, work instructions, and established quality standards.
  • Perform routine 5S audits and maintain a clean, organized inspection area.
  • Clean, handle, and properly store inspection gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Participate in quality training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and inspection procedures.
  • Basic understanding of measuring tools such as calipers and gauges is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn quality standards, inspection techniques, and continuous improvement practices.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance and appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the manufacturing facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to frequently reach, handle materials, and operate measuring equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform work requiring close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
