Quality Fabrication Oversite Representative

This position will perform general oversite duties as a Quality Assurance including interpretation of NQA-1, SNT-TC-1A, customer/site procedures, and DOE requirements. The work is located onsite, in a fabrication facility where PPE is required. This is a casual employment assignment and is limited to 20 hours a week on average with a maximum of 40 hours per week with mileage paid for daily commute.

Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite fabrication oversite of nuclear components and their associated hold-points. Responsible for writing extremely detailed reports weekly for customer review and scrutiny

• Maintain total quality expectation of the fabricator and provide a high level of support to prevent mistakes.

• The employee shall perform, as Quality representative, for the customer under the following requirements:

• Hold and Witness Points as developed within specification and active statement of work

• Hold and Witness Points as selected in the FIT/Traveler Plans / Documentation

• Specific Topic Surveillances, as requested by the customer Quality Assurance Engineer

• Procurement / Receipt of Materials / Procurement Document Control

• Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) / CGD Document Control

• CGD Critical Characteristic Testing / CGD Testing Document Control

• Procurement of Services (as applicable) / Procurement of Services Document Control

• Identification and Control of Materials, Parts, Components, Items / Document Control

• Filler Material Controls / Documentation

• Non-Destructive Examination / Documentation

• Welding Input / Documentation

• Welder Qualification / Documentation

• Welding Documentation / Documentation

• Cleanliness / Documentation

• Pre-Heat and Interpass Temperature Controls / Documentation

• Post-Weld Heat Treatment (Where Applicable) / Documentation

• Purging / Documentation

• Repairs / Documentation

• Personnel Qualification / Documentation

• Vessel Fabrication / Documentation

• Piping Fabrication / Documentation

• Shop Quality Control / Documentation

• Shop Bending / Documentation

• Obstruction Inspection / Documentation

• Testing / Test Control / Documentation

• Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) / Corrective Actions / Documentation

• Fabrication Package and Final Data Package Review (as applicable) and improvement processes.

• May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma with 10 verifiable years of experience working in quality control and inspection is required with experience working in nuclear industry and Department of Energy facilities.
• Highly proficient computer skills for preparing documents and use of spreadsheets for compiling and analyzing data. Must have experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge in the theory and application of assessment and audit techniques and practices, and NQA-1 Program implementation
• Due to the nature of work, candidates must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication, teamwork and vendor interface coordination skills.
• Highly organized and efficient without supervision
• Ability to multi-task and pivot seamlessly form task to task
• Ability to perform work with a positive attitude and accept constructive coaching for the betterment of the final work product.
• Knowledge of activities such as engineering design, maintenance management, construction, project management, QA, manufacturing techniques, procurement processes, and industrial safety and hygiene.
• Experience in commercial nuclear power QA or Department of Energy nuclear facility QA
• Current NQA-1 auditor or lead auditor qualifications
• General math knowledge (e.g., statistics, algebra, geometry) to complement field experience,
• Current ASNT NDE Level II certifications, ANSI QC Certifications
• American Welding Society (AWS) CWI

Expertise in the following areas is preferred:

1. Quality Assurance

2. Quality Control

3. Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) - Preferred

4. Current Non-Destructive Examination Certifications required in the following:

a. Radiographic Testing and Film Interpretation

b. Mag-Particle Testing

c. Liquid Penetrant Testing

d. Ultrasonic Testing

Compensation Details:

$85.00 - $125.00/HR
