Job Summary The QE Technician is responsible for validating the quality of parts from domestic suppliers and overseas manufacturing plants. Ensuring non-conforming material is contained, analyzed, and resolved in a timely manner. This role serves as a key quality liaison between the facility, customers, and overseas manufacturing plants, supporting warranty investigations, new model start-up activities, and continuous improvement of quality standards and processes. The QE Technician helps drive customer satisfaction by confirming parts meet all quality requirements and promoting a culture of proactive problem-solving and defect prevention. Key Responsibilities - Maintain constant, proactive communication with customers regarding any part quality issues, ensuring timely updates and resolution.
- Control and track in-house rejects received from overseas coordinating containment, sorting, and disposition of nonconforming material.
- Create clear, data-driven reports to communicate quality issues, root causes, and countermeasures to overseas plants and internal stakeholders.
- Perform warranty issue investigations and new model start-up activities as needed, including receiving inspection and early-stage quality control.
- Conduct facility walkthroughs to verify that quality policies are followed and that all procedures remain adequate and effective.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality processes, inspection methods, and defect-prevention activities, supporting corrective and preventive action.
- Travel domestically and internationally, as required, to meet with customers, suppliers, vendors, and overseas plants.
Required Qualifications - Associate Degree (or equivalent relevant experience) in a technical field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and department-specific database software.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with automotive quality systems (IATF 16949) and core quality tools (PFMEA, control plans, 5-Why / problem-solving methods).
- Experience with non-conformance handling, containment, and countermeasure reporting.
- Multilingual skills and the ability to communicate effectively across international teams.
